CLUB FOODBANK RUN

Food Bank Runs started in February 2018 in Hampshire and it has evolved into a national movement. This is a simple idea involving runners helping their local community. Instead of a usual club run, runners carry a backpack of donations taking them to their local Food Bank. Three million people now use a Food Bank and use has doubled in the last seven years. Last year donations from 550 Running Clubs nationally topped more than 77 tonnes.

Ludlow Runners took part in March this year with 30 runners taking the trip to the Food Bank with a rucksack of donations. Other people donated online to the Food Bank Bank Account. It was a rewarding and fun evening and I know all the donations were very gratefully received.

A big thank you to Sally Toye for organising the event.
