We love racing! We’re actively involved in organising and supporting the following local races:

Cross Country League
The club takes part in the Herefordshire and Borders Cross Country League. The league hosts fixtures in both the winter and the summer.
Winter League Races
The winter races take place between October and February. There are five races, all about 6 miles. They take place on Sunday mornings with an 11am start.
The programme for the Autumn/Winter League in 2024/25 is as follows:

Ludlow Runners Club Races
These are our Club Races for 2025. Taking part in these events is a chance for club members to get together en masse, enjoy a half or full day out and wear the blue, yellow and gold with pride! Look out for club emails with more details of each event nearer the date.
For competitive club members these races form the Club Championships. How that works is explained below.

a choice of 10km, half marathon, marathon and 80km trail runs from the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, Craven Arms
Sunday 4th May AJ Bell Great Brum Run
a choice of 10km or half marathon road runs in central Birmingham
Sunday 15th May Barry Island 10k
a scenic road 10k along the Welsh Coast and around Barry Island. CLUB AWAY DAY join us for a great day out!
Sunday 20th July Hillfort Hustle
a choice of 5 mile or 10 mile trail runs
Events for August, September and October to be confirmed.
Club Championships Criteria
- You must be a member of Ludlow Runners.
- There will be 10 races of which you must complete at least 6 to be included in the championship.
- Your best 6 races, scored against other Ludlow Runners in the race, will count.
- You must run in a club vest.
- You must enter the race as a “Ludlow Runner” as we will use this to find you in the race results.
- There will be awards for overall male and female winners and various male and female age categories.
- Anyone completing all the races will receive a prize.
- Awards will be presented at the Christmas Party.

Summer Cross Country League Races
There are four races in the Summer League. They take place on Wednesday evenings (7.30pm start) during June and July. The races are around 4.5 to 5 miles and are perfect or anyone wanting to have a go at off road running for the first time.
Mortimer Forest Trail Race
The Mortimer Forest Trail Race was rebooted in 2024 after a 5 year hiatus. 250 runners completed either
the 10 or 4 -ish mile multi terrain route, on the beautiful Herefordshire/Shropshire border.
The event will return in December 2025.
